Statistical Studies on Pediatric Emergency Room Patients

Abstract
|
|
|
The Authors reviewed 3,016 pediatric patients in the emergency room in this University Hospital during 5 year period from Jan. 1970 to Sept. 1974.
The results of this observation were obtained as followed:
1) Among the patients of visiting the emergency room, the patients under the 15 years of age was occupied with the percentage of 28.2.
2) The age distribution showed that 89% was under the 6 years of age and 25.4% was in the 1~3 years.
The highest ag. rate was also in the 1^-3 years.
3) The most frequent primary diagnosis were in &creasing order: Respiratory tract disease (25.7 %), Gastrointestinal disease (20.4%), Neurologic condition (17.4%), Neonatal disease (14.1%), Accident (12.9%).
4) The most popular time of visiting the emergency room was between 4 to 12 pm., at which time about 50115 of patients were seen.
